Kiln Drying

Grinstead Millworks offers kiln drying services for both lumber and slabs, with capacity to accommodate material up to 24 feet in length.

Drying times vary depending on the wood species, moisture content, thickness, and intended end use. For furniture-grade lumber, a typical kiln cycle averages approximately 5 weeks, allowing the wood to dry slowly and evenly for greater stability and long-term performance.

For customers who already have seasoned wood and simply want to eliminate insects or pests, I also offer a heat treatment (sterilization) cycle. This process typically takes 1–2 days and is designed to kill wood-boring insects and larvae without requiring a full drying cycle.

Live Edge Slab Sales

If you are working on a project and just looking for materials, I have a wide selection of locally sourced live edge slabs that you can choose from at my yard in Lake City.

Tree Pruning, Trimming & Felling

I have been caring for trees in the Greater Seattle Area for over 15 years and love being able to develop a long term relationship with both my clients and their trees. I can come down and bid, develop an ongoing care plan and maintain or even fell your trees if it is the best course of action for your property needs.
